  • I’m so Nervous, this is my first Job Interview– If you are a recent graduate and lacks real-world experience, your resume will show it. You don’t have to further accentuate your inadequate knowledge to the interviewer.

Let the employer know that the job will be a stepping stone for your career and what benefit the company will get from your skills & knowledge.
  • I would like to start my own Business in the near Future- It’s good to be career-oriented and entrepreneurial ambitious, however, if you are applying for a job in which you will work for the other person, then it’s better to understate the fact that you are trying to gather some business funding for your dream startup. You probably won’t get a job, if the interviewer suspects your original career goals.
  • Umm, Oh Yeah, like.. – Always maintain a fluent flow of communication when talking to the interviewer. In case you get stuck in between when giving your answers, take a pause and respond in a professional manner. Don’t make use of slangs or filler words and replace them with a brief pause or deep breath to make the situation less awkward for the interviewer.
  • I’m going through a Tough Time- Never reveal about your personal problems to the hiring manager. Your personal issues might affect your professional performance at the job, which recruiters consider before hiring and might results in a job rejection.
  • What does the company do?- Never walk into an interview with a bare or next to nothing knowledge about the job opening. Do your online research and avoid asking basic questions to the interviewer as it is an indication of your careless attitude.
  • That’s really nice meeting you in Person– Flattery won’t land you a job. The recruiters take many interviews in a row and only shortlists the qualified candidates who got the right skills.
